Inspired by my numerous trips to the Grand Canyon, always stopping in awe on the rim. The strata that has taken so long to develop helps me reflect on different stages of my life. I see it as the way we live and learn in our lifetimes. How the vegetation grows despite the rocky terrain is a reminder that we can come through difficult times in difficult conditions. 

Gallery Notes:

Kramer uses layers to depict the ledges and topographic changes throughout the canyon. We love how she created a transparent sky and depths in the foreground with various translucencies for the rocky terrain.
