Artist Statement:

Growing up in South Scottsdale, there were always a lot of citrus trees in the neighbors yards. Our next-door neighbors had 2 grapefruit trees, one yellow and one pink, which they would gift us often. It was always a lucky day when the one you cut one open and it was the pink kind.

Their delicate, sweet flavor, enhanced by a little bit of sugar and that special grapefruit spoon was always a moment of joy. Even as an adult, I feel joyful when I get to enjoy a pink grapefruit.
